For the past year and a half, I've been the creator and director of a texture hack for the original Starfox 64. The goal of the project was to completely re-texture the game with higher resolution textures and stunning modern graphics...
But over the past few months interest in all parties (including mine) Began to decline...

So it's with a heavy heart that tonight I disband my team, and release the project mostly complete, but still unfinished.
I've been working on it for so long, Made so many new friends that I just didn't know I would feel like it was a huge part of my life.
Looking back, it's amazing how many people I've impacted and how many fans have rejoiced at the thought of getting the original game with better textures.
I feel that hack was actually a part of me, something I would do in day to day life.
It's been such an honor to meet so many people, interact and exchange ideas with them. That team became like a family to me, and doing this feels like it could tear me apart... But I know what has to be done.
I'll be stepping down, and in my place my right hand man Andross will stand as the new leader. His determination and dedication is much more deserving of recognition than my efforts ever were.

So now I say goodbye to the team that shaped my courage on the internet, the courage that helped me to do the impossible.

Tonight, You will be recieving the Lylat reloaded texture pack, as my final legacy here.

And as a bonus, because I'm going to f***ing miss you guys (yes that's right I don't even care that I just swore on the forums)
The mission accomplished theme, remastered.

Fox has stated that he no longer wants to work on the hack, but for those who are not completely happy with it unfinished, feel free to work on textures yourselves, the basic THEORY isn't that hard. Also, I'm really busy with RL ATM, but perhaps in six months or so, I'll have a bit more time on my hands and I'll be able to go back and finish some of the things that I want to see finished myself.

(I'm also hoping that Fox will have changed his mind in the mean time...XD)

The other thing is that interest in this hack will change drastically
once SF643D is released, it will either be what we've all been hoping
for, in which case, interest in this hack will probably dwindle down to
nothing, or it will be a flop, in which case people might like to see
the original in full HD.

But for the time being, we're signing off, but as Fox was saying in our conversation last night, We've done a good whack of the game, and what we've done looks brilliant in my not-so-humble opinion, so enjoy what you have for now, and hope that the hack may continue at some point in the future.

Alright, after a few hours of playtesting and tweaking I think I've fixed it all. Here's the final pack, the link at the top has also been fixed and a download link in the download forum has been established. Said forum has also been unlocked for discussion.

I don't post much, but I've been watching this project since its creation. Just wanted to say great job for making it thus far and thank you for releasing what you have; I respect anybody willing to put their free time into a project like this, and I wish all of you the best in your future endeavors.
